This prancing hare made from embossed copper sheet with a mother of pearl button detail, beaded tail and brass whiskers jumps through undergrowth of copper and brass wire, handmade porcelain flowers, clusters of beads with a silver plated dragonfly hovering overhead. It is coated in crystalline verdigris then mounted and signed on acid free off white card in a cream contemporary style open grain wooden box frame, 330mm x 330mm.
When I watch the hares taking flight in the fields surrounding my cottage, I am always amazed by their graceful motion. It is beautiful to recreate especially when I imagine him surrounded by a gorgeous summer meadow.
